Poppy Day Display 2021

Published: 14 October 2021

RENDLESHAM PARISH COUNCIL is planning to mark Remembrance Sunday with a unique display this year -- a tide of crimson poppies to commemorate "100 Years of the British Legion", crafted with a little of your time and a lot of your love.

So if you can knit or crochet, could you please lend us a helping hand (or two!)

We have the wool and the patterns, you have the needles and the know-how! It's a perfect match!

>> Perhaps you yourself have lost someone who served in a conflict. Feel free to personalise your poppy, so that you can dedicate it to your loved one, and will be able to pick their poppy out in the final display...

If you can help, please ring the Admin Office on 01394 420207, or email them on admin@rendleshampc.org.uk and SJ or Anthea will send you out a pattern... Or you can download them from here and print them out.

Truth be told, any red wool will do since it will add depth and diversity to the design. Thus by all means use your own wool if you're comfortable with how it works up... But if you need wool, the Parish Office is open on Monday and Tuesday 12-4pm, and Thursday 10-2pm. (We are here at other times, as and when, but it's always best to ring first to check and save yourself a wasted trip.)

Please could you let us have your poppies by Sunday 7th November, so that we can finalise our plans for the display. Thank you in advance!
