Light Up Rendlesham - Sunday 3rd December

Christmas Lights Switch on, Santa’s Grotto & Christmas Market will be on Sunday 3rd December 2023. Christmas Market will kick off at 2.30pm – we will have an array of local businesses on hand to help take the pressure away from that last minute Christmas shopping. Come along, have a shop and support local.

Chloe Kinrade and her fabulous dancers will be returning for another year. The performance will begin at 3.15pm in the square – a note for parents/guardians of dancers involved in the show a meeting point prior to the show has been arranged for the children, so please await instructions from Miss Chloe. We cannot wait to see what you’ve been practising for the village.

Rendlesham Primary school Choir have also been practising to ensure their angelic voices are ready to treat you from 3.30pm. A special thank you to Mrs Scurrell for their time and dedication to rehearsals - ensuring the choir have blown away any cobwebs from their vocal chords they may pick up over Halloween!

We also have 6 members from Aldeburgh Voices and Suffolk Singers who will be singing some of our favourites in a 4-part harmony. Thank you for your tireless rehearsals and commitment to the community.

A massive thank you to Costcutter who have once again kindly donated a number of Mince Pies for the Christmas light switch on.

Come and find us under the yellow gazebo where Rendlesham Parish Council will be supplying a non-alcoholic Mulled wine, Spiced Apple Juice and squash as well as those yummy mince pies.

Father Christmas will be flying into Rendlesham all the way from the north pole to join us for a special guest appearance before making his way to plunge Rendlesham in to a bright mass of Christmas lights! The light switch on will be at 4.30pm so make sure you have a spot in the square to welcome Christmas 2023 & Santa to Rendlesham.

Santa’s Grotto will be back in the community centre, there is no need to book and is free to attend. So when your eyes have done all the gazing they can do at this years Christmas lights please form an orderly queue into the community centre to meet Santa. We ask this year to follow relevant signage and queue via the double doors leading into the community centre from the square.
