The famous Rendlesham's Christmas Lights Switch-on, Santa’s Grotto & Christmas Market will be on Sunday 3rd December 2023.
We are testing out an "early bird session" for Rendlesham's youngest residents to ensure no matter how big or small little ones are able to have a magical time with Santa. There is no need to book - but please bare in mind this session will be from 13:30 - 16:00 and the queue will be managed to ensure Santa is available to turn on the Christmas lights at 16:30. Santa's Grotto will resume for the later session from 16:35.
NEW this year is a Festive Wreath workshop ran by The Fleur Girl - booking is essential please book via www.thefleurgirl.com. The workshop will be held in Room 16 of the Community Centre starting at 13:30 - 16:00.
Christmas Market will kick off at 14:30 – we will have an array of local businesses including
Jo's Children Books, Simply Cakes, Simply You, Kat's creations, 1st Rendlesham Scout Group, Bix Bricks, Rendlesham's Repair Shed (bring in any Christmas lights that need repairing) on hand to help take the pressure away from that last minute Christmas shopping. Come along, have a shop and support local!
Chloe Kinrade School of Dance and her fabulous tiny dancers will be returning for another year. The performance will begin at 15:15 in the square – a note for parents/guardians of dancers involved in the show a meeting point prior to the show has been arranged for the children, so please await instructions from Miss Chloe. We cannot wait to see what you’ve been practising for the village.
Rendlesham Primary School have also been practising to ensure their angelic voices are ready to treat you from 15:30.
David Farrow from Midnight Road will be treating us to a Christmas performance from 15:45.
Father Christmas will be flying into Rendlesham all the way from the north pole to join us for a special guest appearance before making his way to plunge Rendlesham in to a bright mass of Christmas lights! The light switch on will be at 16:30 so make sure you have a spot in the square to welcome Christmas 2023 & Santa to Rendlesham.
Santa’s Grotto will be back in the Community Centre, there is no need to book and is free to attend. So when your eyes have done all the gazing they can do at this years Christmas lights please form an orderly queue into the community centre to meet Santa. We ask this year to follow relevant signage and queue respectfully. 2 sessions available this year!
