The Personnel Committee oversees all matters related to Rendlesham Parish Council staff, ensuring the Council meets its responsibilities as an employer and applies staffing policies fairly and consistently.

Committee members are appointed annually by Full Council. Only councillors may serve on this committee due to the confidential nature of its work.
Responsibilities
The committee handles staff appraisals, recruitment, HR policy review, training recommendations, and ensures compliance with employment legislation.

Meetings
The committee meets at least twice a year:
- Autumn – for staff appraisals and input into budget planning
- Spring – to review staffing structure ahead of the Annual Council Meeting
Additional meetings may be called when urgent personnel matters arise. Due to the sensitive nature of its business, meetings are usually held in closed session under the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960.
