Quiet Lanes at Rendlesham
Published: 15 July 2022
Following our public consultation last year, we can confirm that Rendlesham Parish Council supports Suffolk County Council’s proposals to designate certain roads within our Parish Boundary as “Quiet Lanes”.
Maps of the proposed Quiet Lanes can be viewed on below or via the Public Notice of Proposals to Designate Quiet Lanes page on the Quiet Lanes Suffolk website, accessible from the www.QuietLanesSuffolk.co.uk homepage.
The lanes being nominated as “Quiet Lanes” by Suffolk County Council are:
U3601 / Ash Road + U3602 / School Lane + U3603 / Rendlesham Lane
Residents should be aware that these types of lanes do not impose any traffic restrictions on users, but seek to inform drivers of the potential presence of walkers, cyclists, equestrians or other non-motorised users on the road, and encourage drivers to show respect for these more vulnerable road users.
Under The Quiet Lanes and Home Zones (England) Regulations 2006, we are required to publish a copy of the Notice, on behalf of Suffolk County Council and would welcome written representations being sent direct to Suffolk County Council.
Email representations should be sent to George.Firth@suffolk.gov.uk or posted to Disputes, Education & Employment Team, SCC, Constantine House, 5 Constantine Road, Ipswich, IP1 2DH.
Representations should be received by the end of play on Sunday 7th August 2022.
All representations received by the Parish Council will be passed to Suffolk County Council for their consideration.
For ease of reference, the lanes concerned are shown below.
