A Word from the Chair
Published: 06 March 2025
As we step into the new financial year with a refreshed council, we're thrilled to share our vision and plans for the future.
My name is Martin Eley-Kemp, and I am honoured to serve as the new Chair of Rendlesham Parish Council. This is the first of many regular updates where we'll share our focus areas and the strides we're making to enhance our community.
Engage with Us We will be hosting several surgeries in the coming months, providing you the opportunity to meet with us, voice your concerns, and ask questions in an informal setting. Your input is invaluable, and we look forward to hearing from you. Join us and let’s collaborate!
Cost Reduction Initiatives We're launching a cost reduction scheme to ensure our council operates with maximum financial efficiency while continuing to support our committed projects and boosting our reserves. Transparency is at the heart of our promise to you; we'll keep you informed about cost savings and how we reinvest the funds.
Jubilee Park Updates Repairs at Jubilee Park are scheduled in the coming weeks. Some of you might have noticed the removal of a damaged table. We've obtained a suitable quote from a supplier to replace rotten and damaged items. We'll communicate the exact timings, and the play area will be temporarily closed during the repairs.
Community Centre News Our new Community Centre Chair, Janice Weller, alongside her dedicated team, has been working diligently to keep the centre vibrant. The recruitment process for the Community Centre Manager and Caretaker has been successful - more updates to follow soon.
Clerk/RFO Recruitment We were delighted by the overwhelming response to our Clerk/RFO position, receiving applications with diverse and impressive skill sets. We're now in the process of reviewing applications to align with our immediate and future needs. Interviews are underway, and we aim to provide an update after our next Parish Council meeting on 10th March.
CIL Spending We're exploring opportunities to utilise the CIL funds effectively within our community. We welcome your suggestions for improvements - potential ideas include additional bins, bus shelters, speed signs, dropped kerbs, and even an allotment. Projects from the past may also be revived with the right support.
In conclusion, we're excited about the journey ahead and the positive impact we can make together. Your participation and feedback are key to our success. Thank you for your support.
