A Word from the Chair 14th April
Published: 14 April 2025
It’s been a busy and productive couple of weeks here at Rendlesham Parish Council. Here’s your latest update from the Council:
Full Council Meeting – Highlights
We held our most recent Full Council meeting on Monday 8th April. A few key updates:
Community Centre: Our new Manager and Caretaker are now in post and already making a great start. We’re reviewing utilities and workspace arrangements to support them in running a more accessible and efficient facility.
Play Park Repairs: Repairs to the Jubilee Park play area were completed at the end of March, ensuring the site is safe and ready for springtime use.
CIL Funds & Finance: We’re working hard to protect and prioritise our Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funds and creating a clear list of projects for delivery. Sadly, an older £13,000 allocation was recalled by East Suffolk due to expiration — a timely reminder of why planning ahead matters.
Funfair 2025: Planning is underway for a potential summer event. We’ll be reviewing proposals and funding options at the next meeting. More info soon.
Community Surgery – Saturday 12th April
We’re held our first drop-in surgery on Saturday 12th April. We’re looking to host a few more soon and encourage you all to come along. This is a great chance to speak directly with councillors — ask questions, raise ideas, or just come and say hello.
Easter Egg Hunt – Saturday 19th April
The Easter Egg Hunt returns to Jubilee Park on Saturday 19th April from 11am–3pm, in partnership with Grace Church and RGNS.
Register for an egg by emailing events@rendleshampc.org.uk by Wednesday 16th April.
Councillor Vacancies – Get Involved
We currently have two vacant seats on the Parish Council. If you’re passionate about our village and want to play a part in its future, we’d love to hear from you. Email clerk@rendleshampc.org.uk for more info.
Thank you all for your continued support and engagement — hope to see you this weekend for the Easter fun!
