A Word from the Chair 24th July 2025

Published: 24 July 2025

As summer gets into full swing, I’m pleased to share some of the latest updates from around Rendlesham.

Jubilee Park: New Seating and Summer Activities

The new pavilion patio and benches are now complete and already being well used. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this upgrade to life. The zip line is also set for repair this week – another step in maintaining a park that’s safe and fun for all. For those interested in staying active, we’re trialling community tennis on the last Wednesday of each month – everyone is welcome to take part.

Community Centre: Ongoing Investment

We continue to improve the Community Centre to ensure it meets the needs of all our residents:

  • The interior lighting has been fully replaced with energy-efficient LEDs;

  • Carpet replacement is scheduled to begin the week of 28th July;

  • We’ve received quotes for footpath widening and external area improvements;

  • And we're actively exploring front entrance upgrades to improve accessibility.

Allotments and Pine Close Play Area

We’re pleased to report that Persimmon Homes have now indicated their wish to begin the legal process to transfer the allotments at the new development to the Parish Council, as originally agreed in the Section 106 terms. We’ll keep you informed as this progresses.

Meanwhile, the fenced-off area by Pine Close is part of an East Suffolk Council project to build a new play area. Although not a Parish Council project, we’ll share news once we know more about the completion date.

Thank you to all who continue to contribute to our growing community – through time, feedback, or simply turning up and joining in.
