A Word from the Chair - 14th March
Published: 14 March 2025
As Chairman of the Rendlesham Parish Council, I am pleased to share some of the exciting work we have undertaken and our plans for the future to enhance our community:
Play Park Repair in Jubilee Park: We are thrilled to announce that starting this April, we will begin repairing and revitalising the play park in Jubilee Park. Our aim is to create a safe, enjoyable environment for children and families to spend time together. This project is a significant step towards fostering a sense of community and promoting outdoor activities among our residents.
Councillor Positions Open: We currently have two open councillor positions available for passionate individuals who wish to contribute to the betterment of our community. If you are interested in joining us and playing a vital role in shaping the future of Rendlesham, we welcome you to apply by emailing your application to RPC
. Your participation and ideas can make a substantial difference in our collective efforts.
Community Centre Update: Following several applications and a successful round of interviews, the Community Centre charity have now appointed to the posts of Manager and Caretaker. The two individuals are expected to take up their positions by early April. This should provide a better facility and service for users.
Easter Egg Hunt Revival: In collaboration with Grace Church, the Good Neighbour Scheme (GNS) is excited to bring back the Easter Egg hunt in Jubilee Park on Saturday, 19th April. We have reached out to Zee, the owner of Costcutters, who has kindly sponsored the eggs for our hunts in the past. Participants will embark on a fun-filled quest around the park, searching for eggs hidden among clues. This event promises to be a delightful occasion for families to enjoy the Easter festivities together.
Community Events Update: We have recently published a statement regarding upcoming events in Rendlesham. You can read the full statement on our website Here . Stay tuned for more exciting activities that will bring our community together.
Rendlesham Spring Clean: On Tuesday, 11th March, Rendlesham Spring Clean organised a successful litter pick that resulted in four full rubbish bags collected by just four dedicated volunteers. We commend their efforts and encourage more residents to join us in the upcoming litter pick on Sunday, 23rd March. Your participation in keeping our village clean and beautiful is invaluable.
Honours Meadow Allotments: We are actively investigating the progress of the promised allotments at Honours Meadow. We understand the importance of these allotments to our community members and will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work diligently to bring this project to fruition.
Old Oak Tree Concerns: We are aware of the concerns surrounding the old Oak tree in the middle of the village. Rest assured, we are assessing the situation and will determine the necessary actions to address these concerns. Our priority is to ensure the safety and preservation of our natural heritage.
